TAMPA – Ty Tomlin moved to 3-0 with three knockouts by defeating Fernando Marrero of Miami on Saturday night in Tampa, Florida. It was Tomlin’s first professional fight outside of Tennessee and was hosted by Dibella Entertainment and Pier 6 Boxing.

“This fight was very stressful as Ty’s opponent fell through the week of the fight and promoters scrambled to find a replacement,” said Darryl Tomlin, Ty’s father. “We didn’t know who we were fighting until the night before, as many names were being talked about. Luckily, all the amateur experience over the years helped in this situation, and we came out with the victory.”

The Ashland City native put his opponent on the canvas twice before the referee stepped in and called the fight 1:10 into the 2nd round. Tomlin brought a crowd to Tampa and would like to thank all those that attended.

The next opportunity to see him in action is Jan. 16 at the Nashville Fairgrounds in a Tri-Star Boxing Event. It will be a six-round bout against an opponent to be announced soon.
