Harpeth split the week with Fairview as Harpeth got the home win on Monday and Fairview got the home win on Wednesday. On Monday Harpeth defeated Fairview 6-2 as Luke Gossett and Ellis Hurt both scored two runs each. Blake Provo and Trey Gasser both knocked in two RBI apiece as well. Gasser also led Harpeth with two hits.

    Ellis Hurt also got the start on the mound for Harpeth and pitched five innings while allowing only two hits and no runs. Hurt also struck out seven over the five innings. Brandon Collins and Nate Ivey also pitched an inning each to finish off Fairview.

    In the second game of the week against Fairview, Harpeth lost 11-6. Dawson Capps led Harpeth with two hits and two runs scored while Provo also scored two runs. Blaise Roberts added two RBI as Michael Bracken and Max Sparkman added an RBI each as well.

    Brandon Collins, Walker Rushing, Luke Gossett and Blaise Roberts combined for six innings on the mound while striking out seven as a team.

    Harpeth is now 1-1 on the season.

    Cheatham County Central’s first week got off to a bit of a slow start as they lost to White House-Heritage on both Monday and Wednesday. In both games WH-Heritage got a shutout win.

    On Monday, WH-Heritage won 6-0 but Caleb Jones accrued four strikeouts on the mound over four innings and D.J. Edmondson picked up two strikeouts on the mound over three innings. Brady Pemberton picked up the lone Cheatham hit on the evening.

    On Wednesday, Cheatham County Central traveled to White House-Heritage as they fell 8-0 to move to 0-2 on the season. Caleb Jones and D.J. Edmondson both picked up hits for Cheatham as Brady Pemberton struck out eight over four innings. Christian Terranova and Dylan Suiters both pitched an inning each in relief and allowed zero earned runs.

    Sycamore, who is now 3-1 early in the season, put a hurting on Whites Creek in a double-header Monday evening as they won 20-0 in the first game and 12-0 the second game. 

    Jerrett Edmondson collected three RBI as Jack Murray and Riley Palmer knocked in two RBI each. Sycamore only collected five hits but they did show some patience gathering 14 walks in the first game of the double-header. Noah Nieves scored three runs at the top of the lineup as Austin Williams, Kenny Harris, Justin Johnson, Jared McCoy and Logan Ivy all scored two runs apiece.

    Kolby Ervin pitched all four innings in the shortened game for Sycamore. Ervin struck out 10 over the four innings and didn’t allow a hit, walk or run for the mercy rule no-hitter.

    The second game was much of the same as Elijah Haskins and Justin Johnson combined for another no-hitter over Whites Creek. Johnson pitched four innings and struck out 11 while Haskins struck out two in his only inning.

    Jerrett Edmondson, again, led Sycamore offensively with two hits and two RBI. Bailey Chapman scored three runs at the top of the lineup for Sycamore as well. Every single Sycamore batter in the starting lineup reached base during the game.

    On Tuesday, Sycamore faced a much better opponent in White House, but still held their ground as they came out with the 4-3 win in dramatic fashion. White House took a 3-0 lead to the bottom of the fifth when Sycamore’s offense decided to come alive. 

    Jerrett Edmondson finished with two RBI and one hit as Noah Jolley scored two runs on one hit as well. Sycamore four different pitches to finish off White House as Kenny Harris got the start and struck out seven in a little over four innings. Logan Ivy, Garrett Webber and Jerrett Edmondson finished off White House for the win.

    On Wednesday, White House was able to get some revenge as they defeated Sycamore 12-1. Noah Nieves got the lone RBI and added a hit as well. Bailey Chapman recorded a hit for Sycamore too. Austin Williams and John Hale both pitched and allowed zero runs.
