Sycamore's J.J. Ivey struck out seven batters in five innings against Harpeth.

Noah Jolley collected three RBIs and J.J. Ivey struck out seven batters over five innings while allowing no earned runs as Sycamore defeated Harpeth 12-2.

Justin Utley collected two hits and one RBI for Harpeth. Michael Bruck picked up the other RBI for the Indians.

“That pitcher (Win Seagraves) for Harpeth has kept a lot of good teams off balance this year, and he’s tough to hit,” Sycamore coach Matt Carrigan said. “We just stayed disciplined at the plate. We knew we couldn’t leak our shoulder out, especially for our right-handed hitters, so we were able to hit the ball up the middle and when our guys go up there with an approach and buy-in, they’re a good hitting team.”

“Through walks and errors, we’re just giving away too many free bases,” Harpeth coach Ben Howell said. “They (Sycamore) hit the ball, they hit the ball well, but you can’t give them extra bases. Today we came out flat, playing back on our heels.”
