Sycamore wins the Battle of the County wrestling match.BILL CLARK
Cheatham County Central, Sycamore and Harpeth all met last week for the battle of the county wrestling event.
Hosted by Cheatham County Central High School for the 2021-22 season, all three high schools wrestled off to see whose program is the best in the county for that year.
This is the second consecutive year the War Eagles have won this event.
Sycamore and Harpeth squared up for the first match of the evening, with Sycamore winning that match 54-27.
The second match of the evening was Harpeth against Cheatham Central with Harpeth coming out on top after being tied with one match to go.
The final match went into overtime with the Harpeth wrestler securing the takedown and the win for the match and the team.
Final score Harpeth 33 Cheatham 30.
The final match of the season pitted Sycamore against Cheatham Central.
Sycamore won the match 58-12.
