Rockvale, Eagleville turn back the clock

Rockvale's Alecea Wilkerson goes up for a shot against Eagleville on Saturday. Rockvale vs. Lebanon (Tuesday) is one of this week's biggest games.

A week of basketball postponements and cancellations left a backlog of good Nashville-area games.

Here’s a look at some of the best matchups around. Schedules are subject to change.

Green Hill (12-2) at Cookeville (10-8): Green Hill started hot this season, but the Hawks are hitting a difficult part of the schedule. Sophomore guard Joshua Heard leads Cookeville with 14.8 points per game.

Pearl-Cohn (9-5) at East Nashville (12-2): This is a New Year’s reboot for the crosstown rivals. Neither has played a game since at least Jan. 1. Jarrod Taylor (20.8 ppg) leads four East Nashville players in double figures.

Lebanon (15-3) at Cookeville (10-8): Lebanon junior Jarred Hall is expected back in the lineup for what should be a fun game. What a big week in the Cookeville gym, after Green Hill’s visit Tuesday.

Columbia (12-2) at Ravenwood (12-5): Q Martin (20 ppg) leads Columbia into what should be a good Ravenwood environment. The Raptors have won four of five games going into Tuesday’s meeting against Nolensville.

Brentwood Academy (12-0) at Ensworth (13-2): This one will help decide the Division II-AA Middle Region. Either team could probably make a case why it’s the best in the area. BA sophomore guard Tyler Tanner is a star in the making, and Ensworth forward/Vanderbilt signee Malik Dia is enjoying a good senior year.

Best of the rest: Tuesday: CPA (11-3) at MBA (4-5); Harpeth (7-3) at Fairview (11-3); Loretto (8-7) at Summertown (13-4); Nolensville (8-8) at Franklin (14-4); Brentwood (9-3) at Summit (7-9); Sequatchie County (5-8) at Cannon County (6-8); Clarksville (10-2) at West Creek (13-4); Ensworth (13-2) at Pope Prep (11-4); Davidson Academy (11-2) at Friendship Christian (11-4); Ezell-Harding (8-5) at Goodpasture (11-3). Friday: Green Hill (12-2) at Siegel (8-7); Davidson Academy (11-2) at Goodpasture (11-3); Portland (10-6) at Greenbrier (13-1); Hendersonville (10-5) at Beech (19-0); Franklin (14-4) at Centennial (8-5); Waverly (10-1) at Camden (12-3); Independence (14-4) at Nolensville (8-8); MBA (4-5) at Pope Prep (11-4); Summertown (13-4) at Columbia Academy (12-4).

Rockvale (13-3) at Blackman (12-0): Tonie Davis (12 ppg) and Rockvale will take their shot at Blackman, which hasn’t played a game since Dec. 29 of last year.

Loretto (14-0) at Summertown (16-1): It doesn’t get much bigger than this Lawrence County clash, which is a rematch of last year’s Class A state title game won by Loretto. Alabama signee Karly Weathers (22.1 ppg) and Loretto haven’t lost ahead of the huge District 10-AA matchup against Katie Burdette (14 ppg) and Summertown.

Pearl-Cohn (9-2) at East Nashville (9-1): It’s hard to beat crosstown rivalry basketball. Keep an eye on UT Southern signee Ayanna Kinnard (East Nashville) and Christiana Groves (Pearl-Cohn).

Lebanon (14-3) at Cookeville (17-0): If Cookeville beats Green Hill on Tuesday, it’ll own an 18-game win streak. Lebanon’s Asia Barr (11 ppg) and Finley Tomlin (11 ppg) could change that.

Brentwood Academy (12-2) at Ensworth (6-4): Trinity Fields helped BA pull out a victory at Lipscomb Academy on Saturday. It’ll take all hands on deck to defeat Jaloni Cambridge and Ensworth.

Best of the rest: Tuesday: Pickett County (13-3) at Clarkrange (13-3); Red Boiling Springs (12-3) at Clay County (10-3); Cumberland (9-7) at Upperman (14-2); Livingston Academy (14-2) at White County (13-3); Cheatham County (10-6) at Sycamore (12-5); Brentwood (10-5) at Summit (8-7); Springfield (6-9) at Rossview (11-2); CPA (7-3) at Harpeth Hall (8-5); Ensworth (6-4) at Pope Prep (9-4); Nashville Christian (8-1) at Clarksville Academy (9-7); Ezell-Harding (9-5) at Goodpasture (8-8). Wednesday: Harpeth Hall (8-5) at Ensworth (6-4). Thursday: Red Boiling Springs (12-3) at Clarkrange (13-3). Friday: Lipscomb Academy (9-6) at Father Ryan (8-2); Harpeth Hall (8-5) at Pope Prep (9-4); Upperman (14-2) at Livingston Academy (14-2); Blackman (12-0) at Oakland (12-5); Summit (8-7) at Hillsboro (11-2). Saturday: Pope Prep (9-4) at Father Ryan (8-2).
