Cheatham County Central hosted White House on Monday evening for the Lady Cubs’ senior night. White House ruined the Cheatham festivities with a comeback win. Cheatham led 3-0 heading into the fourth inning but the White House offense got started in the fourth with one run and then got rolling in the fifth inning to score four runs.

Cannon Johnson, the freshman catcher, did get Cheatham started with a home run in the bottom of the second as she connected with a fastball on a 2-2 count to score the games’ first run. Cheatham was able to take that lead into the third inning when the Lady Cubs scored twice more thanks to another home run, this time from another freshman, Macie Harter. Ansley Pfeffer then doubled later in the inning to get in scoring position as Natalie Davenport followed that with a double of her own to move the score to 3-0.

Chloe Hart got White House started quickly with a leadoff triple in the top of the fourth inning and then Addy Harris was able to bring her in a with a line drive into right field. White House was on the board.

White House then exploded for a four run fifth inning as Leighann Sanders hit a leadoff single and then Kaylee Rogers hit a double. An error by Cheatham put Rogers at third base with Brook McCray at second base. A two-run double from Miranda Cain tied the game at 3-3 and then White House took the lead thanks to a single from Harris to go up 5-3.

Cheatham was able to get one run back in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a single from Harter that scored Katelyn Sisco but that would be the rest of the offense for Cheatham County Central for the night.

White House scored another run on a Harris double brining in Hart to get to the 6-4 final score. Cheatham County Central did get the winning run on base in the bottom of the seventh and had the bases loaded but couldn’t score.
