Donelson Christian Academy won eight-straight sets before the Lady Wildcats met their match against Pope John Paul II on Saturday in the Overton Bobcat Classic.

The Lady Wildcats took eight-straight sets against LaVergne, Lincoln County, Overton’s junior varsity, East Magnet and Lincoln County for a second time, respectively, before they lost to Pope John Paul II in the final match to finish second in the tournament.

For the tournament, Reese Aldridge finished with 14 aces in service. Claire Cordell racked up 36 kills and 42 digs. Sydney Willis had 35 kills and 10 blocks. Kenzie Brewster added 19 kills and 14 blocks. Ava Francis had 56 assists, and Kenzie Ducharme finished with 59 digs.

Donelson Christian 3, Nashville Christian 1

Donelson Christian Academy had a slow start but rallied to knock off Nashville Christian on Thursday, Sept. 5 in four sets in a Division IIA Middle 2 match at home.

The Lady Wildcats lost the first set 25-13, but bounced back to win the next three, 25-14, 25-11 and 25-19 to win the match.

Claire Cordell led the Lady Wildcats with 18 kills and 18 digs. Sydney Willis finished with 12 kills and five blocks. Kenzie Ducharme racked up 21 digs, and Ava Francis had 19 assists and 12 digs.

Donelson Christian also went 5-1 and finished second Saturday in the Overton Bobcat Classic.

Donelson Christian 3, Davidson Academy 0

Donelson Christian dominated Davidson Academy on Wednesday, Sept. 4, winning three straight sets in a Division IIA Middle 2 match on the road.

The Lady Wildcats won the sets 25-18, 25-21 and 25-17 to sweep Davidson Academy in the match.

Claire Cordell finished with 10 kills and 18 digs. Kenzie Brewster added four kills and five blocks. Reese Aldridge had five aces in service, and Sydney Willis racked up five kills.

Donelson Christian 3, University School of Nashville 0

Donelson Christian Academy knocked off University School of Nashville in three straight sets Tuesday, Sept. 3 in a Division IIA Middle 2 match at home.

The Lady Wildcats won 25-22, 25-19 and 25-8, respectively to pick up the 3-0 district win.

Sydney Willis led the Lady Wildcats with 13 kills, followed by Paige Eby with five. Kenzie Ducharme finished with four aces in service and 19 digs.
