Kentucky commitment Skyy Clark has played his final basketball game for Ensworth this season.

In a message posted to Twitter on Sunday, the star guard said that he and his younger brother, ZZ, will sit out the rest of the season “because of growing concerns with this coronavirus pandemic that threatens the world and more specifically my family.”

“ZZ and I would like to thank the entire coaching staff at Ensworth HS for helping (us) through these tough times by providing us a safe outlet to play a sport we both love,” Skyy Clark said.

Skyy Clark averaged 26.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 11 games for the Tigers. He is rated by the 247Sports Composite as a five-star prospect and the 12th-best recruit nationally in the 2022 class.

ZZ Clark, a freshman guard, contributed 11.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists this season. He has already received offers from Arizona State, Kansas and Vanderbilt, among others.

Skyy Clark said he and his brother will continue working out to prepare for “the possibilities that spring and summer basketball have to offer.”

“And we pray that the world will be in a healthier place so that myself, brother and peers can compete in safe environments all around the country,” he said.

The Clark brothers missed three games while quarantining in mid-January. Skyy Clark wrote in a blog post on SI.com that his younger sister tested positive for COVID-19. They returned to combine for 45 points in a 70-58 win over Baylor on Jan. 23 but had not played since.

The Clark family moved from California to Middle Tennessee in April and originally enrolled Skyy and ZZ at Brentwood Academy. However, the duo transferred to Ensworth before the start of basketball season.

Despite playing without the Clarks, Ensworth (11-5) rolled to wins over Father Ryan and Pope John Paul II last week. The Tigers travel to Lipscomb Academy on Tuesday.
