McGavock dominated East Nashville Magnet 9-0 on Oct. 3 on the road. 

Lady Raiders’ keeper Jessie Kotuem recorded one save and was credited with the shutout. Molly Goodwin led the way with three goals, followed by Sueheir Al-Asmar and Camille Cato each with two. Karolyn Vallejo and Addie Sessum each added one goal. 

Mariam Samir, Aya Sebai and Arionna Howard contributed one assist apiece. 

The win pushed McGavock’s overall record to 6-6-1 on the season. 

Beech 7, McGavock 2

McGavock fell to Beech 7-2 on Oct. 1 in district play on the road in Hendersonville.

“[It] was 2-1 with 25 minutes to go, and the wheels fell off,” said McGavock coach Harmon Hodge. “We had little to no depth. Eight players played all 80 minutes. We just wore down.”

Camille Cato scored both goals for the Lady Raiders. Molly Goodwin and Karolyn Vallejo each picked up one assist apiece.  

McGavock picks up pair of wins 

McGavock picked up a pair of shutout wins recently against Greenbrier and Maplewood. 

The Lady Raiders defeated Greenbrier 2-0 on Sept. 24 on the road. Keeper Jessie Kortuem recorded the shutout for McGavock. Molly Goodwin scored a goal from 75 feet, and Camille Cato added a goal from 43 feet. Sueheir Al-Asmar picked up an assist in the match. 

The Lady Raiders also shut out Maplewood on Sept. 26 in a schedule add-on match. 

Kortuem was credited with the shutout as keeper and added a goal. Cato led in scoring with three goals. Goodwin added two goals and one assist. Jayden Smith, Sloan Brown and Lexi Jones scored one goal apiece. Addi Green had two assists, and Brown also had an assist.
