The Donelson Christian Academy boys’ basketball team started off their region tournament run with a 72-55 win over Columbia Academy in a tournament quarterfinal.
Ben Singer led the Wildcats once again with a 36-point outing. Blake Anderson and Riley Stanton almost cracked double figures with nine points, while Jon Lewis with eight and Jude Charlton with seven also contributed in the scoring column.
However, the Wildcats fell in the region tournament on the road against Christ Presbyterian Academy.
DCA trailed by three points at halftime against the powerhouse school but wasn’t able to sustain CPA as the Wildcats fell 59-50.
Singer led the team in scoring again with 17 points, while Charlton with 16 and Lewis with seven also contributed with solid scoring.
The Wildcats were back in action Monday night on the road against Webb School in Bell Buckle.
DCA girls end season with loss to Webb School
The Donelson Christian Academy girls’ basketball team had their season come to an end on the road Feb. 20 against District 3 champion Webb School with a 58-24 loss.
It was the last game for DCA senior and All-District guard Sara McGlasson, who scored 15 of her team’s points and knocked down three three-pointers.
Adrionna Dawson chipped in with six points, while grabbing six rebounds.
For the season, the Lady Wildcats finished 11-15 and advanced to the region tournament for the first time since 2016.
