CENTERVILLE- The Creek Wood boys defeated Hickman County on Tuesday night 53-46 in the district tournament.
Hickman County was 10-4 in district play this season and was seeded No. 3 for the tournament. Creek Wood was 4-10 and the No. 6 seed.
Creek Wood Coach Charles Taylor preached composure all night long to his players and it definitely worked, especially late in the game. The Red Hawks made some key free throws and played tough defense while boxing out for control on the boards.
Camden, the 2 seed in the district tournament, defeated Stewart County so the Red Hawks will travel to Stewart County to play Camden for a spot in the District Championship game. Creek Wood and Camden will play at Stewart County on Friday, Feb. 15 at 8:30 p.m.
