Creek Wood won the District 12-AA Tournament last week in straight sets taking down Sycamore by scores of 25-15, 25-19 and 25-13.

It was yet another dominating performance by the Lady Red Hawks in what has been almost a flawless season so far.

With the district title appearance, Creek Wood has now punched its ticket to the region tournament that will be hosted by either White House or White House-Heritage.

“The team did a great job of playing at fast tempo during the tournament games,” Creek Wood volleyball coach Jeremy Baker said. “We stayed in a good rhythm all night and then played solid defense.”

“As the season has progressed, the girls have gotten much better at playing the speed we want,” Baker added. “When you’re not a super tall team you have to rely on defense and speed to keep balls off the floor. Our girls do a great job making the right reads and going for every ball. We have gotten better at that every game and I hope we continue to improve in that area as we progress.”

After the tournament, awards were given out. Trista Jackson was named tournament MVP while Jocilynn Riley, Katie Bowers and Hannah Gossett were named to the All-Tournament team with Jackson.
