Dickson County struggles at tournament

Friday started a four-game stretch for Dickson County High School as they lost the opener of the ServePro Classic to Dyer County, 4-3.

Jacob England went 2-for-4 with two RBIs to lead Dickson County as Colton Thompson added another RBI. Tucker Berry pitched all seven innings for the Cougars and allowed four runs and struck out two batters on 101 pitches.

Clarksville 16, Dickson 0

Clarksville got out to an early lead and never allowed Dickson to get a run. Brock Holley and Hayden Riley each had a hit for the Cougars. Trinity Oliver, Andrew Travis, Quinn Murphy and Chase Hoover all pitched for Dickson County in the game.

Dickson 8, Franklin 7

Drake Lewis led Dickson County with two RBIs, including the walk-off hit to beat Franklin. Joel Workman and Andrew Travis both also collected RBIs.

Sam Adams pitched the first four innings for Dickson County, striking out six batters. Max Sensing pitched the other three innings with three strikeouts.

Pope John Paul II 9, Dickson 3

Gage Pontremoli, Drake Lewis, Jacob England and Jett Jackson all pitched in the last game of the weekend for Dickson County, combing for eight strikeouts.

Colton Thompson and Chase Hoover had RBIs. Max Sensing and Tucker Berry led Dickson County with two hits apiece.

Creek Wood 6, Tallassee 4

Peyton Allen went 3-for-4 with three RBIs to lead Creek Wood to a win in its first game of a tournament in Alabama. Chase Klotz and Dylan Berry also added an RBI each for Creek Wood.

Berry pitched a complete game, striking out three batters on 92 pitches.

Creek Wood 11, Tallassee 9

Chase Klotz went 3-for-5 with two triples and four RBIs for Creek Wood. Will Secker, Peyton Allen, Hunter Plaster and Sam Batey also added an RBI apiece.

Allen pitched into the fourth inning and Batey took over to get the win.

Sweet Water 5, Creek Wood 2

Will Secker pitched five innings and knocked in one run for Creek Wood. Houston Kilpatrick pitched the other two innings for the Red Hawks.

Dylan Berry knocked in the other Creek Wood run. Chase Klotz added a triple.
