Luke Russell, Avery Gunn and Colton Thompson all signed a letter of intent to play college baseball recently.
The three players helped lead Dickson County to an 18-17 record this season and an upset victory over Franklin in the first round of the District 11-AAA tournament.
Russell, a starting infielder, signed with Roane State Community College. He ended his senior campaign with a .291 batting average and a .331 on-base percentage. Russell collected 32 hits over 110 at-bats including seven doubles, 12 RBIs and 20 runs for the Cougars.
Gunn, one of the main arms on the mound for Dickson County, signed to play at Middle Tennessee State University. Gunn, a member of the District 11-AAA First Team, pitched 43 innings with a 1.47 ERA and 53 strikeouts.
Thompson, a starting infielder and pitcher, signed to play at Dyersburg State Community College. Thompson finished the season with a .309 on-base percentage and 21 hits in 86 at-bats including three doubles, 13 RBIs and 13 runs. Thompson also pitched more than 20 innings and struck out 19 batters.
