Blane Minnis has made history with Greenville University’s football team.

Now a senior lineman for the Panthers, the Jo Byrns alum is a part of the school’s first-ever Division III football playoff appearance.

The Panthers earned their first Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Championship since 2012 with a 47-21 win over the University of Minnesota-Morris. It was the eighth win for Greenville this season and capped off an undefeated conference slate.

Behind Minnis and the rest of the offensive line, the Panthers have rolled up 460 yards per game, good for 19th-best in Division III. Their 2,559 rushing yards this season ranks 12th among 240 schools in the division.

Minnis signed with Greenville in 2017 after playing both ways throughout his career at Jo Byrns.

The Panthers open the postseason at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Saturday, Nov. 20.
