The South Haven Christian football team needed just 286 total yards to put on an offensive display at Martin Luther King Jr. Park in Springfield.
The Patriots scored 40 points in the first half in a 56-20 blowout of Tennessee School for the Deaf on Thursday, Sept. 5.
Junior receiver Emmanuel Deng caught two touchdowns from Andrew Crawley, who finished 3-of-3 passing for 57 yards.
Deng was voted the 8-Man Extreme Player of the Week for his big performance against Lighthouse Christian Aug. 30. He accounted for five touchdowns and 198 yards of total offense in a 48-32 South Haven victory.
South Haven did most of its damage against TN School for the Deaf on the ground, led by 73 yards and a touchdown from Isaac Taylor, who also recovered a fumble and returned it for a touchdown
Seniors Estevan Covington and Erik Sorto and juniors Drew Atkinson and Ray Lopez each rushed for one touchdown apiece.
Junior Alex Martinez led the Patriots on defense with eight solo tackles. Sophomore Raymond Jin chipped in five total tackles, while Deng and Nathan Starnes both finished with four.
South Haven (2-1) was set to battle rival Christian Community on Friday. The Patriots then host Bowling Green Christian Friday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m.
