Hendersonville/Station Camp hockey team shuts out TN Outlaws

The Hendersonville/Station Camp/Beech hockey team stayed at the top of the GNASH league standings with a 5-0 shutout win over the Tennessee Outlaws last Wednesday.

The Commandos took a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals from Alex Yarger (unassisted) and Clayton Stickel, assisted by Blake Fuqua and Jaxon Rathert.

HHS/SC pushed its lead to 5-0 in the second period with three goals in the span of 3:23. Colson Leonard made it 3-0 with an assist from Yarger, followed by a Brodie Kovach goal exactly two minutes later, assisted by Yarger and Tyler Kimbro.

Colson finished off the scoring a minute later, taking a Fuqua pass beating Outlaws goalie Brent Kitchens for the 5-0 win. Starting goaltender Brandon Shaw stopped all eight shots, while backup Sean Gonzalez stopped all five of the shots he faced. Shaw remains one of the top goalies in the GNASH league with a 5-1-1 record, a 1.73 goals-against average and .901 save percent.

Hendersonville/Station Camp returns to the ice on Monday, Dec. 10 against Father Ryan at 5:30 p.m. at Centennial Sportsplex.
