White House Heritage senior infielder Ty Lopez signed his letter of intent with Spalding University on Tuesday, April 26.

Lopez committed to the Louisville, Kentucky, school in February after being named to The Connection’s All-Robertson County baseball team as a junior.

Through 21 games this season, Lopez has a team-leading .361 batting average with four doubles and five RBIs. He’s part of a five-man senior class that has led the Patriots to their third-ever regular-season district championship.

Spalding is an NCAA Division III institution and holds a 23-13 record as of April 30. The Golden Eagles boast 12 consecutive winning seasons.
