Reece, Price & Hayslip take top honors --

In baseball, the stats speak for themselves.

So when it came down to selecting The Wilson Post's 2019 All-County Baseball Team, the numbers were overwhelming.

Friendship Christian School senior Braden Reece has been named Pitcher of the Year. The Trevecca signee went 9-0 with an ERA of 1.16. He struck out 65 batters and walked nine in just over 66 innings of work.

Reece gave up only 11 earned runs -- five in his last 54.1 innings.

Sophomore teammate Camden Hayslip, who has verbally committed to Alabama, is the 2019 Player of the Year. Hayslip, an outfielder, finished the season with a batting average of .413 and 28 extra-base hits -- including 11 homers, 12 doubles and five triples. He drove in 33 runs and scored 55 runs.

The pair helped the Commanders finish the season with a record of 30-8.

The 2019 Wilson County Coach of the Year is Watertown High's Lane Price. In his first year as head coach of the Purple Tigers, Coach Price led his squad to a record of 19-8 -- establishing a new school record for most victories in a single season.
