AC Markham drives past a BGA defender

NASHVILLE -- The Providence Christian girls booked their trip to the DII-A District 3 championship game with a 39-25 win over Battle Ground Academy on Friday night. 

AC Markham and Alia Callum led the Lady Lions with 9 points each, as PCA easily cruised into the championship game. 

PCA opened up with a 16-8 lead in the first quarter as Kyah Keller had all of the Lady Wildcat points. Markham, Yaubryon Chambers and Sydney Gibson each had two field goals as PCA doubled up BGA. 

In the second quarter, PCA slowed down slightly, only scoring four points in the quarter, but BGA only had four as well – giving the Lady Lions the 20-12 halftime lead. 

PCA picked the scoring back up in the third, outscoring BGA 11-9 for the 31-21 lead heading into the final quarter. The Lady Lions made 6 of 8 free throws in the fourth quarter to put the game away and cruise into Saturday’s championship game against CPA.
