MBA's Baylor Sai (left) and Ensworth's Maggie Cannata were named the Main Street Preps Boys and Girls Tennis Players of the Year for Davidson County

The MBA boys and Ensworth girls dominated the Main Street Preps All-Davidson County tennis team with three selections each. 

Baylor Sai was named the Boys Player of the Year after claiming a DII-AA state singles title. The No. 1 tennis prospect in the state knocked off McCallie’s Will Leathers 2-0 to win his state championship. 

Maggie Cannata earned the Girls Player of the Year honors, knocking off Baylor’s Landie McBrayer 2-1 to win the DII-AA state singles title. 

The full all-county team is listed below:

Boys All-County team:

- Baylor Sai, MBA - Boys Player of the Year

Accomplishments: Won the Division II-AA state singles title. Sai is the No. 1 prospect in the state and No. 19 overall in the country in the Class of 2021 according to TennisRecruiting.net

 

- George Corzine, USN

Accomplishments: Won the Division II-A Middle Region championship and was a DII-A singles semifinalist, losing to eventual state champion Walker Stearns

 

- Richard Cummins, MBA

Accomplishments: Reached the DII-AA state semifinals, falling to state runner-up Will Leathers. Is the No. 2-ranked player in the state in the Class of 2020 according to Tennisrecruiting.net

 

- Hugh Graham, MBA

Accomplishments: Reached the DII-AA doubles state semifinals and is the No. 7-ranked player in the Class of 2019 according to Tennisrecruiting.net

- Preston Demouy, FRA

Accomplishments: Demouy was the No. 3 seed in the DII-A Middle Region, reaching the state quarterfinals

Girls All-County Team:

- Maggie Cannata, Ensworth - Girls Player of the Year

Accomplishments: Won Ensworth's first Division II-AA state singles title. She is listed as the No. 4-ranked player in the class of 2019 according to Tennisrecruiting.net

- Mia Pretorius, USN

Accomplishments: Was the No. 2 seed from the Division II-A Middle Region, reaching the state quarterfinals

- Anna Chambers, Ensworth

Accomplishments: Reached the Division II-AA state doubles tournament. Listed as the No. 10-ranked player in the Class of 2021 according to Tennisrecruiting.net.

 

- Riley Collins, Ensworth

Accomplishments: Reached the Division II-AA state singles semifinals, falling to Baylor's Landie McBrayer

- Kathryn Risner, Harpeth Hall

Accomplishments: Risner was the No. 4 seed in the DII-AA East/Middle Region, reaching the state semifinals
