DICKSON -- After a close first half, the Franklin Rebels couldn’t hang with the Dickson County Cougars, ultimately falling 69-56 on Friday night.

The game was neck-and-neck in the first half, as the Cougars clung to a 19-18 lead after the first quarter and 38-34 at halftime. Reese Glover was on fire in the first half, knocking down five 3s and tallying 21 of his team-high 24 points.

However, Dickson’s DJ Stacy went basket for basket with him, hitting four 3s and dropping 17 points to keep the Cougars slightly ahead.

Then in the third quarter, Dickson County began to overwhelm Franklin. Kody Pardue knocked down eight points in the quarter as Dickson County outscored the Rebels 20-8 to take a 58-42 lead into the final quarter.

In the fourth, Jacob McGraw tried to rally the Rebels with a pair of 3s, but the 16-point deficit was too much to overcome as Dickson County took the 69-56 win.

Stacy led all scorers with 25 points, while Pardue added 14 for the Cougars. Aside from Glover’s 24, Reed Kemp had 11 points as the only other Rebel in double figures.
