Hawks in midst of 5-game homestand –

Green Hill High will play the third date of a five-game home stand Thursday, Oct. 1 when Nashville Stratford comes to “The Hill.”

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the starter to the Week 7 football schedule.

Thanks to restrictions relating to COVID-19 by Metro Nashville health officials, the Class 3A Spartans have played just one game this season — a 27-26 victory last week at Hunters Lane.

While the additional home game will generate gate receipts for the fledgling GHHS program, Stratford fans will get the opportunity to see their team play live and in-person.

“Adding this game helps both programs,” said Hawks coach Josh Crouch. “Of course, we’d love to play at home, but with the COVID restrictions, Stratford isn’t able to have fans at their home games. It’s not a bad drive for them.”

Green Hill enters Thursday’s contest 0-5 in a start-up campaign following last week’s 56-0 home loss to Father Ryan.
