GLADEVILLE -- Following a scoreless first half, Wilson Central found the back of the net twice in the second period and come away with a 2-1 victory over rival Mt. Juliet Tuesday in the District 9-AAA opener for both teams.

Wildcat Omar Islas opened the scoring at the 2-minute mark of the second half thanks to an excellent combination play from Steven Stone to Barrett Streeter to Sebi Gal-Chis.

Gal-Chis added the eventual game-winner for WCHS of an assist from Lucas Anderson in the 18th minute of the second half.

Mt. Juliet's lone goal came from Vinnie Lounsbury off an assist from Seth Babb.

Bayo Kaloshi was in net for for Wilson Central and made two saves. Jake Hirschmann was in goal for the Golden Bears and turned away six shots.

The Wildcats (1-0) return to action 7 p.m. Thursday, March 14 at LaVergne High -- weather permitting.

Mt. Juliet (0-1) will host Lebanon High Tuesday, March 19 in a 7 p.m. match.
