TSSAA WRESTLING — WC reaches state duals

‘Cats take on Independence Friday at 5 pm —

Ranked No. 2 in the state, Wilson Central’s wrestling team will open up the TSSAA Class AAA duals tournament Friday, Feb. 1 at the Williamson County Ag. Expo Center.

The Wildcats (32-4 overall) will take on Independence High at 5 p.m. with the winner advancing to the Class AAA second round at 7 p.m. Friday.

Third round matches are scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday.

Friday’s other first round pairings include:

Cleveland vs. Sevier County;

Centennial vs. Germantown Houston;

Blackman vs. Tennessee High (Bristol);

Heritage vs. Beech;

Knoxville Halls vs. Bradley Central;

Arlington vs. Maryville and

Tullahoma vs. Johnson City Science Hill.

The Wildcats enter the state duals as the Region 6 champions after downing Clarksville Rossview 48-27 Jan. 24 at Clarksville High.

Admission – Tickets are $10 for school-age children and older and are good for one day only. Tickets may be purchased at the gate or in advance at gofan.co/tssaa. TSSAA Championship Event Cards and TACA cards will be accepted for admission at the pass gate to the right of the main entrance.

The TSSAA ID card and TMSAA ID card are not accepted for championship events.

Event parking – Parking is $5 per vehicle per day (cash only).
