Watertown 7, Livingston Academy 5

WATERTOWN – A five-run first inning helped carry Watertown to a 7-5 home win over Livingston Academy Tuesday in a “loser-out” game of the District 8-AA softball tournament.

The Lady Tigers (17-11) overcame five errors with 13 hits — including homers from Jaina Drennon and Alie Tunks.

Drennon threw 108 pitches, allowing seven hits and striking out eight for the win.

WHS takes on DeKalb County Wednesday at 5 pm in another elimination contest. Today’s winner will play the loser of Upperman-Macon County at 6:30 pm.

Lebanon 10, Beech 9

HENDERSONVILLE – Lebanon’s Lady Devils forced the “if necessary” game of the District 9-AAA bracket with a 10-9 win over Beech Tuesday at Drakes Creek Park.

With the win LHS improved to 17-11 on the season and faces Beech Wednesday for the bracket championship and a berth in the Region 5-AAA tournament. First pitch is set for 6 pm at Drakes Creek Park.

Down 6-5 after six innings, Lebanon batted around in the top of the seventh as Jordan Bush, Karlee Wright, Sarah Kizer, Landry Dixon and Aly Dickerson had consecutive hits to take a 10-6 lead.

Beech countered with three in the bottom of the frame for the final score of 10-9.

LHS pounded out 13 hits including doubles by Addie Grace Porter, Lily Beth Waddle (2 RBI) and Wright (4 RBI).

EARLIER IN THE DAY – Lebanon eliminated rival Mt. Juliet 5-4 with a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Dickerson led off the eighth by reaching on an HBP, then was bunted over to second by Porter.

Alaina Smith lined out to second, then Waddle reached on a walk. Bush followed with a single to right that scored Dickerson from second with the game-winner.

Smith finished with four hits while Kizer had a single and a double.

Mt. Juliet was led by Karah Hood who had a double and two singles and Gabby Faccadio who ripped a two-run homer.

Station Camp 5, Green Hill 4

GLADEVILLE – Station Camp locked up one side of the District 9-AAA softball tournament with a 5-4 win over Green Hill Tuesday in the bracket championship game at Wilson Central High.

Green Hill (19-16) had reached the bracket finals with an 11-0 win over Wilson Central earlier Tuesday and opened the game against Station Camp with a three-spot in the top of the first.

The Bison countered with two in their half of the first, then added single runs in each of the third, fourth and fifth innings.

Green Hill pushed across a run in the seventh on an infield out by Karlee Brown that brought home Emily Legrand, but Station Camp pitcher Madison Croxford struck out the next batter to end the game.

Legrand finished 3-for-4 and Lillie Buckley went 2-for-3 for the Lady Hawks.

EARLIER IN THE DAY, Green Hill senior catcher Ashlyn Riggs went 4-for-5 and drove in five runs to lead the Lady Hawks to an 11-0 win over rival Mt. Juliet in a “loser-out” contest.

Allison Brake had three hits to drive in two runs while Legrand added a double and two singles.

Sophia Waters dominated the Wilson Central lineup, allowing just three hits (all singles) and striking out two with no walks. She induced eight fly-outs and eight ground outs on a 75-pitch effort.
