Pitzer strikes out 16 at SCHS -

GALLATIN - Wilson Central rode the right arm of Kyleigh Pitzer and locked up the District 9-AAA regular season championship Tuesday with a 6-2 win over Station Camp.

Pitzer threw a complete game four-hitter, striking out 16 as the Lady Wildcats moved to 20-8 overall headed into a 6:30 p.m. home game versus Siegel Friday, April 30.

Infielder Maddison Stowell paced the Wilson Central offensive attack with a two-run home run, finishing with a pair of hits and three RBI.

Madison Carey, Camryn Langley and Cloe Smith had two hits each for the Lady Wildcats.

Watertown 11, York Institute 0

WATERTOWN – Talk about stealing the spotlight on Senior Night.

Ninth grader Jaina Drennon threw a five-inning perfect game and struck out six, leading Watertown to an 11-0 home win over York Institute Thursday in the regular season finale.

WHS sent 11 batters to the plate in the bottom of the first and took control by scoring eight runs – highlighted by a three-run triple from outfielder Madi Reeder.

Abby Cooper hit a solo home run to lead off the bottom of the second and added another RBI with a third inning sacrifice fly.

Brittni Allison and Callie Buhler each chipped in with run-scoring singles.

With the victory, the Lady Tigers moved to 13-10 on the season with the District 8-AA tournament cranking up next week.
