Golden Bears play at Green Hill –

High school football doesn’t get much better than this.

Neighborhood rivals Green Hill and Mt. Juliet will play before a packed stadium in North Mt. Juliet Friday as well as a regional television audience with the top seed in Region 5-5A on the line.

Thanks to pregame programming by MyTV30’s Friday Night Rivals, kickoff is scheduled for 7:07 p.m.

Advance tickets are available for $8 per person (plus handling) via gofan.co/app/events/748397?schoolId=TN73113.

Game day tickets will be available for $10 cash per person.

Mt. Juliet enters Friday’s contest 7-2 overall and a perfect 5-0 in the region following last Friday’s 53-24 road victory at Hillsboro.

The Golden Bears, who technically own a share of the region title, have won two in a row since an Oct. 6 loss to Lebanon by a 27-6 score.

Green Hill (6-3, 4-1) has also won two straight since a 53-21 loss at East Nashville.

The Hawks could slide to third in the region with a loss on Friday – regardless both teams are assured of a playoff berth.

“MJ is a really good team,” Green Hill senior Kaleb Carver said. “We’re even. It’s an even game. We’re just going to see who will come out on top. It’s a rivalry game, so anything can happen.

“It’s going to be important that we stay focused with the atmosphere that’s going to be around us,” he added.

Wilson Central at Hillsboro

Assured of a spot in the Class 5A playoffs, Wilson Central can move up to No. 3 in Region 5 with a win Friday at Hillsboro and other results falling their way.

The Wildcats fell to 3-6 overall after suffering a 56-14 loss at Class 6A Stewarts Creek last week.

However, Coach Brad Dedman’s team is 3-2 in the region with wins over Hunters Lane, White County and Station Camp.

Trousdale County at Watertown

Once again, Trousdale County and Watertown square off in Week 11 with serious playoff implications on the line.

This season is different as the rivals are not vying for the Region 4-2A crown, but are clawing for a spot in the postseason.

TCHS comes to Robinson Stadium Friday just 1-3, and 1-8 in the region after holding off Whites Creek 20-16 last Friday.

Watertown (4-5, 2-2) must win in order to lock up a playoff spot.

The Tigers handled Livingston Academy last Friday 38-14.

Warren County at Lebanon

Lebanon’s Blue Devils close out the regular season at home Friday, Oct. 28 as they take on Region 3-6A opponent Warren County.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. with Senior Night recognition planned for pregame.

LHS is 7-2 and locked in as the second place team in the region with a record of 2-1.

Warren County (1-8, 0-3) is trying to snap a six-game losing streak.

MJ Christian at Clarksville Academy

Mt. Juliet Christian travels to Montgomery County to take on Clarksville Academy Friday in the season finale.

The Saints are 1-8 after last week’s loss to Nashville Christian.
