Pole vault finals held Friday –

LEBANON — The pole vault finals of the 2021 Wilson County Track & Field Championships were held Friday afternoon at Lebanon High’s Clifton Tribble Field / Danny Watkins Stadium.

Lebanon’s Hayden Belcher won the boys event with a leap of 10 feet.

Green Hill’s Carolina Bannach and Lebanon sophomore Ella Pine tied for top honors in the girls division at 7-6.

Interrupted last spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 version of the Wilson County Track & Field Championships have been scheduled Saturday, April 17 at Wilson Central High.

All other events are slated Saturday morning at Wilson Central High. Admission is $5 per person.

The following field events will open at 10 AM and will be held in this order:

Boys Shot Put/Girls Discus; Boys Discus/Girls Shot Put; Boys High Jump/Girls Long Jump; Boys Long Jump/Girls High Jump and Girls Triple Jump/Boys Triple Jump.

Running events begin at 11 a.m. girls, followed by boys. 

11 AM – 4×800 meter relay

12 PM – 100/110 meter hurdles

12:15 PM – 100 meter dash

12:30 PM – 4×200 meter relay

12:45 PM – 1600 meter run

1 PM – 4×100 meter relay

1:15 PM – 400 meter dash

1:30 PM – 300 meter hurdles

1:45 PM – 800 meter run

2 PM – 200 meter dash

2:15 PM – 3200 meter run

2:30 PM – 4 x 400 meter relay

Wilson Central hosted the 2019 event which found Mt. Juliet’s girls and Lebanon’s winning their respective divisions.

The Mt. Juliet girls finished with 91.5 points, Lebanon was second with 77.5, Wilson Central third at 59 and Watertown fourth with 30 points.

The Blue Devils won the boys competition with 106 points, followed by Mt. Juliet with 72. Wilson Central was third at 52 and Watertown fourth at 41.

Combining the girls and boys scoring gave Lebanon a score of 183.5. Mt. Juliet scored 163.5, Wilson Central 111 and Watertown 71.

First year Green Hill High School will join the mix for the first time this weekend.
