Region championship goes to winner –

First place in Region 4,6A is on the line Friday as Mt. Juliet welcomes Hendersonville High to the Mel Brown Athletic Complex.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. as the winner will come away with the region championship and will host the No. 4 team from Region 3,6A Nov. 6 in the opening round of the TSSAA playoffs.

Friday’s loser will also play at home in the first round, entertaining the No. 3 team from the other side.

Seemingly back on track after a rain-soaked 53-16 road win over Station Camp last Friday, the Golden Bears went back to their Wing-T roots against the Bison after over a year in a spread offense.

“It’s the fourth year in a row we’re playing Hendersonville for a region championship,” said Mt. Juliet coach Trey Perry.

“We know what’s in front of us. They don’t beat themselves,” Perry continued. “We’ve got to play clean football.”

Mt. Juliet stands 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the region while Hendersonville comes in 6-3, 4-0 after whipping Rossview 42-21 last time out.

Rossview at Lebanon –

This one’s pretty simple — win or pack it in.

Rossview and Lebanon square off with their respective playoff lives hanging in the balance Friday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Tribble Field / Watkins Stadium.

Live radio coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. on WANT FM-98.9.

The Blue Devils slipped to 5-4 on the season and 1-3 in the region following last week’s 21-17 loss to Wilson Central.

The Red Hawks stand 5-3, 2-2 after last week’s loss to Hendersonville.

The winner solidifies the No. 4 spot in the region and will travel to top-ranked Murfreesboro Oakland Friday, Nov. 6 in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs.

Station Camp at Wilson Central –

Coach Brad Dedman’s Wildcats took care of the heavy lifting last week, going on the road for a 21-17 win at Lebanon — placing themselves in the running for a third region finish provided they can beat Station Camp Friday.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.

The Bison stand 0-9 on the season and have lost 23 consecutive games.

Stone Memorial at Friendship –

Class 4A Stone Memorial will provide the opposition Friday as Friendship Christian School closes out the 2020 regular season.

Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Pirtle Field with homecoming ceremonies set to be held at 6:30 p.m.

The Commanders are coming off a storm-shortened 34-0 victory over Webb School (Bell Buckle) last week while Stone Memorial (4-5) whipped Smith County High 39-10.

FCS stands 6-2 overall, 5-2 in Division II-A East, and stands to host a first round playoff game Nov. 6.

Watertown at East Robertson –

Watertown looks to close out the 2020 regular season on a high note as the Purple Tigers venture to Cross Plains to take on Region 4,2A foe East Robertson High.

The Purple Tigers (8-1 overall, 4-0 region) are winners of seven consecutive games and can run the table in the region with a win Friday over the Indians.

East Robertson stands 3-6 on the season following a 21-14 victory over Harpeth Oct. 23.

Regardless of Friday’s outcome, Watertown has clinched the region championship and with it — home field throughout the 2020 postseason.

Green Hill at Chattanooga Notre Dame –

Green Hill is scheduled to close out the regular season on the road Friday, playing at Chattanooga Notre Dame.

Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. Central.

The Fighting Irish dropped to 2-7 on the season following a 48-13 loss to Boyd Buchanan Friday, Oct. 23.

Last week’s Green Hill game at Lakeway Christian Academy was canceled at the last minute due COVID-19 issues in Morristown.

The Hawks will be playing in Week 12 as Green Hill welcomes White County High to North Mt. Juliet for a TSSAA-sanctioned “bowl game”.

Preliminary plans call for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff Saturday, Nov. 7.

MJ Christian at DCA –

And finally, Mt. Juliet Christian Academy will close the books on the 2020 season with a 7 p.m game tonight at Donelson Christian Academy’s.

The injury depleted Saints take a record of 1-8 into Ken Redmond Field while DCA is undefeated at 8-0.
