Kingsbury football coach Quintin Jones resigns, will stay on as AD

Quintin Jones has overseen Kingsbury football for the last four seasons, but his role at the Memphis public school is changing.

After putting the Falcons through spring practice, Jones resigned as head coach to become the school’s athletic director.

“(I had) nothing but good times as the head coach at Kingsbury, as we were able to win the first 5A game in program history and put guys into the next level for the first time in years,” Jones said.

Jones took over the Kingsbury program in 2018, the same year the Falcons moved up to Class 5A.

Kingsbury’s last winning season and playoff appearance came in 2010, when the Falcons finished 7-6 and advanced to the Class 4A quarterfinals.

The Falcons are coming off a 2-7 record in 2021.

Currently four schools in Greenfield, Kingsbury, Middleton and White Station are in the market for a head coach.
