WATERTOWN - Powering past two opponents with relative ease, Watertown's volleyball team captured the Region 4A championship Tuesday and with it -- the right to host a TSSAA Sectional.

The Lady Tigers, 33-11 overall, welcome Eagleville to town Thursday for a 7 p.m. match with the winner earning a berth in next week's state tournament in Murfreesboro.

Siegel High School in Murfreesboro will serve as the host site for the Class 1A state tournament beginning Tuesday, Oct. 19.

Down 16-8 in the third set, the Lady Tigers rallied back to within three points with a 5-0 run, then took control at 20-17 thanks to four straight service aces by Libero Ali Tunks.

"They (East Robertson) are a great team," Coach Harman said. "I think we handled it well, we didn't lose composure when we were down by eight in the third set. The girls fought their way back and never waivered."

Parkerson paced the forward wall with 17 kills and a dig while Holbrooks added nine kills.

Poston finished with 22 assists and seven digs; Morgan Brown had 15 digs, six kills and two aces;

McElroy served three aces with seven assists, a kill and two digs while Robertson scored five kills and an ace.

Harmon, who enjoyed good success at Lebanon High several years ago, is in her first season at Watertown High and is trying to get the Lady Tigers back to the state tournament for the five consecutive year.

"We've played a tough schedule upside the district against Green Hill, Wilson Central, Cookeville -- several larger schools, trying to get the girls ready for this run.

"Winning the region and getting to play the sectional at home is huge. This is what we've been working for."
